The criticism could have been leveled at any of a number of Western nations, but many Canadians are seeing red over Pope Benedict's observation that too many Canadians are living an utterly secular life. For these, there is no room for moral values founded on religious beliefs. It's the "me" generation taken to the extreme.
Roy Clancy's column provides the details.

Nice article. I'm posting it on my blog too.
I guess those Canadians aren't eating biscuits. I'm recruiting field workers to test my theory that the more biscuits are served, the more children you will find around the table. It's a Culture of Life index. What are they eating in Canada? Let me know.

LOL, Kitchen Madonna!
You might want to refine your study -- I think dropped biscuits are a greater aid to fertility (or could it just be that with 11 kids, my Mom made most foods in whatever way your could make the mostest the fastest?)
And you know what? I have no kids, and I can't bake a decent biscuit to save my life (not for lack of trying, on either count.)
Hmmmm... there may be something to your theory after all.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!!!
I could _BE_ "Wolfie!" One of 11, my Mom made great drop biscuits, and I have managed to produce neither babies nor biscuits. (I actually make biscuits, but they are pretty lousy, and have made no kids whatever, though I am a GREAT aunt.")
